the alkaline acid diet
The Alkaline Ash Diet, or Acid Alkaline Diet as it's more commonly referred to, is a diet that revolves around the delicate balance of pH levels in the body. This diet argues that the foods we consume have the ability to either foster an alkaline or acidic environment within our bodies and the objective is to consume a larger proportion of alkaline-inducing foods and a smaller proportion of acid-inducing foods for optimal health. Proponents of the Acid Alkaline Diet claim that an acidic internal environment can cause harm such as inflammation, osteoporosis and even cancer, and that by maintaining a slightly alkaline pH of around 7.4 through food choices, overall health can be improved.

The Acid Alkaline Diet categorizes foods into two groups: acid-inducing and alkaline-inducing. Acid-inducing foods include processed foods, dairy, sugar, and meat, while alkaline-inducing foods consist of legumes, nuts, vegetables and fruits. The diet suggests consuming 80% alkaline-inducing foods and 20% acid-inducing foods.

Though the Acid Alkaline Diet claims to offer benefits such as improved digestion, weight loss and a reduction in symptoms of chronic diseases, there is a lack of scientific evidence to support these claims. The Acid Alkaline Diet can also be difficult to follow, as determining the pH levels of individual foods can be challenging. Furthermore, the body has a natural ability to regulate its pH levels, and following the Acid Alkaline Diet strictly may not be necessary for optimal health.

To summarize, the Acid Alkaline Diet is a dietary philosophy that aims to balance the pH levels within the body by consuming a higher ratio of alkaline-inducing foods and a lower ratio of acid-inducing foods. Despite the claimed health benefits, there is limited scientific evidence to support these claims. It is advisable to consult a healthcare professional before making any major changes to your diet.
